Fiddlesticks are octagonal sticks used in lieu of a pencil for practicing bow holds. Pencils are round or hexagonal, but the frog portion of a real bow is an octagon. Fiddlesticks are made in 3 sizes that are the actual diameter of violin/viola, cello, or bass bows.
Fiddlesticks will not teach you how to hold a bow, but they can be a placeholder for practicing bowings or as a demonstration tool for teachers. Choose between maple or oak.
